Mammoth Bonus Tusks!

Greetings you passionate proponents of prehistoric proboscideans!
Did you know that the
1/18th scale Wooly Mammoths include extra tusks in every box? Not only do you get the large male-tusks, you also get the slightly smaller female tusks, AND a pair of "battle-damaged" tusks. What's more, the
brown-mammoth's tusks are slightly yellowed while the
snowy variant's are bright white.
They're designed to be easily replaceable, so you can customize your mammoth with one male and one damaged to make your Pleistocene Epoch diorama unique.
Prehistoric Elephants is Live!

We've finally launched our
Prehistoric Elephants project on Backerkit! If you haven't already, consider backing our campaign and secure your very own 1/18th scale Wooly Mammoth, our 1/18th scale Baby Mammoth, or our Backerkit-Exclusive Snowy-backed Mammoth and Baby bundle.
This project has been cooking for over a year. Here you can see three of our Eons hosts, Michelle, Gabriel, and Kallie, as they perform very important research at the University of Michigan's Museum of Natural History.
Making these prehistoric proboscideans as accurate as possible is expensive, and we couldn't do it without the help of backers like you! Once we're fully funded, we'll unlock other figures and variants. We're very excited to reveal more figures, and we'll keep you posted.
Meet the Eons team (and some Proboscideans!)

As we approach the launch of our Proboscidean project, we'd like to introduce you to the team of hosts who share their enthusiasm for all things ancient on
Eons. We've asked them to tell us about their favorite prehistoric elephant. Leave yours in the comments!
Kallie Moore
Kallie (she/her) here, been hosting Eons since the beginning - 7 years ago! One of my favorite episodes both to host and to watch is "The Hazy Evolution of Cannabis". Not only was it fascinating, but the script was full of jokes...how could it not be right?! And my top choice of prehistoric elephant would be
Palaeoloxodon - possibly the largest land mammal to ever exist and I'm pretty sure it would beat T.rex in a hypothetical match-up.
This is photo is from 2024, at London Natural History Museum (NHM) with an American Mastodon (
Mammut americanum). This specimen was collected in Missouri and acquired by the NHM in 1844 by Sir Richard Owen and is thought to be 30,000-40,000 years old. Also check out my Pachyderm Print skirt! It shows the wear patterns of proboscidean teeth, including mammoths, mastodons, and gomphotheres. The yellow represents the exposed dentine, the reddish brown is enamel, and the orange shows topography and shadows (by
geopetal fabric).
Gabriel Santos
Kumusta! I’m Gabriel Santos (he/him) and I’m the new kid of the block having joined the Eons team last year! My favorite episode so far was the “
Fern Madness” TikTok I did because I love ferns oh so much. When it comes to prehistoric proboscideans, I have to say my favorite is the
Pacific Mastodon (Mammut pacificus) because its a West Coast mastodon and was first described by my friends at the Western Science Center here in sunny SoCal!
Michelle Barboza-Ramirez
Hey yall, I'm Michelle Barboza-Ramirez (they/them)! I joined the Eons team about 4 years ago, but have been a fan since the beginning :D One of my favorite episodes we've done is "
A Natural History of Mars", whose topic may seem outside the usual bounds of an "Earth" history show, but ends up being a poetic exploration on the nature of life itself. Like Blake, I'm a sucker for shovel tuskers - they're just so goofy looking! The one that usually comes to mind is
Ambelodon, as part of my time in grad school involved working at a new field site which was just full of fantastic Late Miocene creatures - including adult and juvenile Amebelodon.
Blake de Pastino
Hi fam! I'm Blake de Pastino (he/him), and I've been hosting Eons since we launched in 2017, with Kallie (!), and I've been writing about paleontology since, well, what I guess we'd call the Late Holocene epoch at this point. I do happen to have a favorite proboscidean, thanks for asking: It's the
Gomphotheres! I'd never even heard of them until a few years ago, when I learned of, and wrote an article about, the discovery of Gomphotheriidae fossils in Southern California. Their shovel-like mouths and tusks make them look both familiar and uncanny, which is what a lot of extinct fauna evokes in me. I also would like to ride one, if they make saddles big enough.

A new collaboration is coming. Eons is working with Creative Beast Studio to create a new way to learn and experience creatures that once roamed the earth.
What's Eons? Well, we make videos like the one below:
We Can “Bring Back” The Woolly Mammoth. Should We?
